HUNTINGTON PARK, CA (December 23, 2022) – Redwood Housing has successfully acquired Concord Huntington Park apartments, a 162-unit affordable housing community dedicated to senior living.

Originally constructed in 1972, the 15-story building underwent a substantial renovation in 1999. The 111 studio apartments and 51 1-bedroom apartments are supported by a project-based Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contract that covers 95% of the apartments.

Redwood established a new partnership specifically for this acquisition that is aimed at supporting plans for a 24-month renovation project that exceeds $10k per apartment. Additionally, the plan will refresh community amenities such as the resident community room, game room, fitness center, business center, parking and laundry facilities.

As part of Redwood’s commitment to sustainability, the project will include the addition of solar carports and other amenities that will contribute to the high-quality affordable housing options for seniors in the region.

Huntington Park is located about five miles south of Downtown Los Angeles, and the CHP address – 6900 Seville Avenue – is visible by airplane when flying into LAX.
