Built in 1979 and minutes from Waikiki Beach, Hausten Gardens was at risk of being converted to market rate housing. Redwood collaborated with a local partner to sponsor a preservation and redevelopment plan to revitalize this critical community asset. The modernization of Hausten Gardens included comprehensive unit renovations and community-focused features, such as a resident lounge, community gardens and picnic areas. Additionally, the renovation included mechanical system upgrades, including an elevator modernization, upgraded security features and energy-saving fixtures throughout.

Admiralty Apartments, a mixed-use historically significant property on Port Townsend Bay, was partially condemned after storms damaged its structure. Redwood sponsored an environmentally focused redevelopment that included rebuilding the property’s pilings and brick masonry façade.
